Welcome

I wanted to start this blog to talk about things that are important to me. I am a mother of two children. Katelyn was born 11 weeks ago. She's beautiful. We're dealing with some colic issues but otherwise she's a good baby. She's sleeping about 6 hours through the night- so i can't complain. My son, Tyler, is five and started Kindergarten this year. He's dealing with the adjustment of having a new sister. He's been used to being the only child for five years, so he's having a bit of hard time realizing that it's not all about him. We're working on using reward charts with him to keep reminding him to behave. So far it's working pretty well, but I need to keep consistant with it.

We also started working on letting my daughter fall asleep on her own because we don't want her to get used to falling asleep in someone's arms. Apparently dr.'s say that when she wakes up in the night she'll start looking for the last thing she remembers- which would be mommy or daddy.

Our children are very important to us. It took us 5 years of fertility treatments to conceive our son and three IVF's to concieve our daughter. We thank God for allowing these procedures to work and for giving us the best gift- Life. Our family was complete with the addition of our daughter and we're looking forward to making many more beautiful memories as a family.

I am in my last year of College, majoring in Human Services. I spent 5+ years in the real estate industry, but it finally hit me that I wanted to do more in my life. I want my career to be rewarding for myself and for others. Hopefully when I graduate I will find the perfect job. I'm probably going to have to start out as the low man on the totem poll- but i'm sure it will be worth it.

Welcome to my blog and I look forward to discussing all kinds of topics - regarding Fertility, Parenting, and many other Social Concerns facing the everyday person.
